Recently upgraded to Ableton Live 9 and after nearly 4 years working with Ableton, I continue to learn something new every day. The great thing is that I am truly excited every time I fire up this program and I am convinced, it’s the best tool for producing and making music currently available. Sure the FL fans might disagree but everything is where you want it when you need it making production that much more enjoyable and streamlined. I have to thank the Ableton community for continually putting out new tutorials and techniques for the masses to consume and learn. The support from this community is epic and I hope to give back to the community when possible.
Right now I am fully immersed in all things EDM, the playing field is so level right now with the millions of bedroom DJ’s and Producers like me trying to get something out there. It’s possible and that’s all I need to motivate me. I’m fortunate to have a great job that allows me to invest in this learning experience and I’m fortunate for the many friends I am making along the way. Music is life and there is nothing more than I want to do than make great music.
The rule of thumb according to Malcolm Gladwell who wrote a great book “Outliers” is that you have to spend 10,000 hours practicing your craft(whatever it may be)to become an expert at it. Bottom line is that nothing worthwhile comes easy and rest assured I have about 7,000 more practice to go before I can call myself an expert but the hours are being spent and I expect to be great, eventually.
